Are Volunteers Needed?

Absolutely!

Join one of our teams! Volunteers are always needed. Fluency in Spanish is NOT required to contribute your time to the food pantry or the thrift store, whose profits help pay for the food we distribute. Church membership is also NOT required. All that is needed is a caring, welcoming spirit and the willingness to work with others for the good of our neighbors in need. We have a lot of fun while doing good and would love to have you join us!

Sample Volunteer Team Roles

  • Food Collection Team: Collect food and other goods from donation spots on the Eastern Shore or across the Bay

  • Food Distribution Team: Distribute food to our neighbors at mobile food pantry sites (Pungoteague, Parksley, and Eastville)

  • Social Media Team: Help get the word out about Dos Santos and our thrift store

  • Special Events Team: Assist with fundraising, sales events, etc.

  • Thrift Store Team: Help at our all-volunteer-run thrift store in Onley

    • Sort through thrift store donations

    • Work with customers

    • Help display merchandise

  • Thrift Store Special Projects Team: Your skills are needed for the thrift store!

    • Are you tech and able to evaluate the condition of technology-related donations?

    • Can you repair/refinish furniture or build displays?

  • Warehouse Team: Help process new donations that come into our warehouse. Be the first to see the new arrivals!
