BETTY MARINER - CHAIR & THRIFT STORE DIRECTOR
Betty is a retired ESL teacher and administrator. For more than two decades, she and her husband Peter were foster parents to unaccompanied minors in the Richmond, VA, area, where they raised their two biological children. The couple moved to the Shore in 2001 and joined St. George's Episcopal Church. Peter has served as church Treasurer. Betty was President of the church’s women’s group and then Convocation President, eventually becoming Treasurer of the Diocesan ECW. Peter and Betty have been active on the Habitat of Humanity Board. Betty served one term as President and ran their small garden tour. After 9 years with Habitat, Betty left to serve on the Literacy Board, where she helped with tutoring and served a term as President. During the 4 years Betty has been the Chair of Dos Santos, the organization has grown tremendously and risen to meet new challenges.
SERGIO FLORES - TREASURER & PANTRY DIRECTOR
Sergio has been a trusted Dos Santos volunteer since moving to the Shore from Paso Robles, CA, in 2016. Raised in a single-parent home with five siblings, Sergio experienced food insecurity as a child and teenager. “Now, as an adult,” Sergio says, “God has blessed me, and it’s in my heart to help address the ugly face of food insecurity in my local community.” In recognition of his years of dedicated effort and compassionate support of Dos Santos clients, Dos Santos awarded Sergio the 1st Annual Angel Award in 2022. In addition to his leadership at Dos Santos, Sergio is a member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Shore Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ESCADV).

JOHN FITZPATRICK - FOOD RESCUE DIRECTOR
John Fitzpatrick is one of eleven children and the son of a Greek Orthodox Priest. John’s grandfather was born in the Peruvian jungle. After moving to the Eastern Shore, John (together with his very talented wife, painter Kate Fitzpatrick) established Chatham Flower Farm. The farm employs interns and offers flowers to the public. Says John, “With my father being a Greek Orthodox Priest, I've always put helping people who are less fortunate at the forefront of my legacy. Dos Santos is an organization that has the back of those who are impoverished, and that is the reason for my involvement.”
STACY RHODES - SECRETARY & AWAC COORDINATOR
Stacy is a resident of Chincoteague, VA, who spent 40 years in public service positions. He primarily worked in six developing countries — including Bolivia, Haiti, and Guatemala — for the Peace Corps and as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Assistance Agency (USAID). In addition to his role with Dos Santos and AWAC, Stacy served on the board of the non-profit organization, Global Communities, which delivers essential solutions to complex challenges at the intersection of humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and financial inclusion. Stacy and his wife Trish (Betty’s assistant in the thrift store) are active grandparents of five.
VIVIAN MONTANO - DIRECTOR
Vivian was born in La Paz, Bolivia, and attended the American Cooperative School, where, at an early age, she became fully immersed in American culture. She later earned her International Baccalaureate degree, graduating with a degree in International Relations and a minor in Economics. Vivian gained valuable experience in institutional finance working for Symmetry Partners after graduation. Later, she worked for Refco, which was at the time the largest broker on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. In 1997, Vivian joined her sister in establishing Luna Maya, the first and only Bolivian/Mexican fusion restaurant in Hampton Roads and one of the region’s best-loved establishments. In addition to her leadership role with Dos Santos, Vivian serves on the board of
Vivian lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, Steve, and son, Alejandro. She enjoys traveling with her family and learning about other cultures through their art, food, and traditions. In her spare time, she practices kickboxing and loves soaking up coastal Virginia nature on long walks.
REVEREND BOB RANDALL - DIRECTOR
Bob Randall has been rector of Old Donation Church in Virginia Beach since September 1, 2004, after coming from the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast (Alabama). Bob's passion is shaping a community that understands God's vision and whose members have the tools to make that vision a reality in their own lives and the lives of others. Father Bob believes the Church needs to make the world a better place for all. 20 years of business and engineering have helped him understand regular people and real life.
He is a graduate of Virginia Seminary in Alexandria. Before that, he earned two engineering degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He and his wife, Chris, share a joyful spirit and a love for the people of Old Donation. Bob and Chris have two grown married children, four granddaughters and two grandsons.

JOSEPH BAKKAR - DIRECTOR
Joe Bakkar has lived in Virginia Beach for 18 years. He is a recent graduate of Norfolk Academy, where in addition to helping organize student volunteers for Dos Santos every week, he was President of the Tunstall Student Council and involved in several clubs including the Literary Magazine, Junior Classical League, and Livestrong. As a Global Health Fellow with the Batten Leadership Program, Joe has researched international health interventions and current events and examined social determinants of health. and Livestrong. Joe has been an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and recently celebrated the achievement of Eagle Scout. He will be attending the University of Virginia.
